Jezek Tool & Machine was founded in 1953 by Al Jezek & Frank Jezek in Newark, NJ.
In 1955 the brothers took a partner, Mario Vitale. By 1962, the business had grown to a point where it required
more space, and the company purchased a new building at 719 Livingston St. Elizabeth, NJ.
At that time the company had about 30 employee's working at manually operated machining equipment-
making parts, building prototypes, and designing custom machinery.
The growing list of clients would include such well known companies as IBM, Singer, Johnson & Johnson,
Schering Plough, Owens Illinois, and many of the airlines at Newark International Airport which is nearby.
Frank sold his interest in the business in 1980, and Al and Mario operated the company together until 1986,
when Al Jezek retired and Mario Vitale assumed full ownership of the company.
With new technologies available in the machining industry, the technical personnel here decided that the
company would have to bring in automated machinery in order to stay competitive, and so the first CNC
machines were purchased. Soon the company began making large quantities of parts with less manual labor.
A "Clean Room" was created to make high precision parts for the world famous Sikorsky Helicopters, The first
Plastic Extruding Machine was built here, We made an enormous automatic welding fixture for IBM, We
manufactured at least fifty Sausage Making Machines here for J&J, produced thousands of mortar fire
simulators for the US Military, and we have been a Preferred Vendor to Pitney Bowes for more than 35 years.

In November 2002, Mr. Vitale sold the company to plant manager Al Muschiatti. Al started with the company
when he was just a teenager and has remained here for 40 years.

Today, we continue to improve our processes with the addition of new technology and equipment.
Over the past four years alone we have added (5) new state of the art machining centers with advanced
automation, (1) coordinate measuring machine for critical inspections, automated finishing and cleaning
equipment, and advanced work holding & tooling for quick set-ups and high speed machining.

Jezek, and has been manufactured here and sold worldwide for almost forty years
Below: An advertisement for a precision adjustable knee tool that was designed and
engineered by Al Jezek in the 1960's. This tool was superior to the Hardinge model &
much smaller. We still have a bunch of them in the stock room.
